I'm getting addicted to this one !
Cost: cheap
Time: 5 mins
Storage: not possible (goes bad quickly)
Hair types: all
Smell: none
Effects:Appearance: adds sheen & gloss
Nourishment: lots !!!
Oily hair: does not weight it down, adds volume
Dry hair: moisturises
Other: detangles hair, removes frizz
Update: after using this for some time I find that 1Tbs is enough for me, more than that adds too much volume (I have a lot of hair). Also my wavy hair gets more curly, probably because the hair retains moisture.
LINSEED HAIR RINSE / HAIR GELYou need:- Linseed (flaxseed): 1-3 Tbs --
You can experiment and regulate the thickness of the gel. The thicker it is, the more volume you get. And of course you need more if your hair is long and less for short hair. - Water
- A sieve
Boil linseed in around 1/2 liter (2 cups) of water.
For hair rinse, let cool slightly, and then strain through a sieve. Pour another 1/2 liter (2 cups) of cold water through the sieve, and use a spoon or your fingers to get the gel to go through the sieve. If it's hot, let it cool before using. After shampooing and rinsing out, use this as a last rinse. Do not rinse out ! Don't let your slimy hair scare you. Once dry, the linseed gel is imperceptible on your hair. It has no smell either.HAIR GEL
Boil for around 10 minutes, then strain through sieve. Let cool before using. Apply on dry hair.
For curly hair: For eliminating frizz, someone suggested making a thicker gel, and after washing when the hair starts drying and the curls form, scrunch your curls with hands smeared with the linseed gel.
BTW linseed oil is used in expensive hair styling products :)
Linseed in your diet also does wonders for the hair and skin :))
If any of you try this out, do let me know how it worked. Don't forget to mention your hair type !
