Many women seem to enter marriage/co-habitation with a sigh of relief that their days of searching are over.  That doesn't mean they should just let themselves go. Nor does it mean they should hang on for dear life. To me, it almost seems like false advertising.  

Sure there are certain extras we all do when looking for or just getting into a relationship but has their partner ever really "seen" them? Or have they merely been demonstrating chameleon-like behaviours to please him?  Maybe they don't even remember who they are - shades of Runaway Bride.

Be true to yourself, responsible for your own happiness and live up to your own expectations not someone elses - your life will be much richer.
